At least 62 killed in Israeli attacks since dawn

At least 62 Palestinians, including seven people waiting for aid, have been killed in Israeli strikes across Gaza since this morning, local health authorities report.

Israeli suicide drone wounds Palestinians in Gaza City

An Israeli suicide drone attack wounded several Palestinians at an outdoor dining and charging area in western Gaza City, local reports say.

The site had been used by residents to charge phones, laptops and lights.

A July media investigation revealed that the Israeli military has increasingly deployed weaponised drones against civilians, including children, to drive families from their homes or prevent their return.

Israeli airstrike kills four in central Gaza

Four Palestinians were killed and several others wounded when an Israeli airstrike hit a tent sheltering displaced families at Palestine Stadium in central Gaza, according to medical sources.

The strike ignited a fire that spread rapidly to neighbouring tents, causing further casualties and damage.

Oscar-winning Palestinian director Basel Adra's home raided

Palestinian Oscar-winning director Basel Adra said that Israeli soldiers conducted a raid at his West Bank home on Saturday, searching for him and going through his wife’s phone.

Israeli settlers attacked his village, injuring two of his brothers and one cousin, Adra told The Associated Press. He accompanied them to the hospital. While there, he said that he heard from family in the village that nine Israeli soldiers had stormed his home.

The soldiers asked his wife, Suha, for his whereabouts and went through her phone, he said, while his 9-month-old daughter was home. They also briefly detained one of his uncles, he said.

As of Saturday night, Adra said he had no way of returning home to check on his family, because soldiers were blocking the entrance to the village and he was scared of being detained.

At least 12,000 join pro-Palestinian rally in Berlin

Thousands of people gathered in front of Berlin's landmark Brandenburg Gate on Saturday, demanding an end to "the genocide in Gaza" as well as a halt to arms deliveries to Ukraine.

Around 12,000 people joined the rally in the centre of the German capital condemning Israel's offensive in the besieged Palestinian territory, according to police figures.

But the far-left BSW party, which had called the demonstration, estimated turnout at 20,000 people, making it one of the largest pro-Palestinian rallies in Germany in recent months.

Rubio: Qatar strike 'not going to change' US-Israel ties

The United States is "not happy" about Israel's air strikes targeting Hamas in Qatar, but the attack will not change Washington's allied status with Israel, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Saturday as he departed for the region.

"Obviously, we were not happy about it, the president was not happy about it," he told reporters shortly before departing Washington for discussions with officials in Israel.

"It's not going to change the nature of our relationship with the Israelis, but we are going to have to talk about it -- primarily, what impact does this have" on the diplomatic efforts to bring about a truce in war-ravaged Gaza, Rubio added.

Israel PM: 'Getting rid' of Hamas leaders will end Gaza war

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Saturday that eliminating Hamas's leaders would bring an end to the war in Gaza, accusing them of repeatedly derailing ceasefire efforts.

"The Hamas terrorists chiefs living in Qatar don't care about the people in Gaza. They blocked all ceasefire attempts in order to endlessly drag out the war," he said on X.

"Getting rid of them would rid the main obstacle to releasing all our hostages and ending the war."

Israeli airstrikes have hit the public prosecution building in Gaza, according to Al Jazeera, as the Israeli military continues a campaign of destroying high-rises and other significant buildings around Gaza City.

UNRWA says 86 percent of Gaza under displacement orders

The UN's agency for Palestine refugees has said that "entire neighbourhoods in Gaza City and Jabalya are being emptied," and that "86 percent of Gaza is under displacement orders or militarised zones." 

"Families are fleeing with nowhere safe to go. The siege must be lifted."

Israeli raid on Tubas injures several Palestinians

An Israeli raid on the occupied West Bank city of Tubas saw several Palestinians injured, including children, according to Palestinian news agency Wafa, which added that two were assaulted by Israeli forces, and four children were suffocated by tear gas inhalation. 

Gaza faces critical shortage of blood units amid starvation

Gaza's health ministry issued a warning on Saturday about a severe shortage of blood units in the enclave's hospitals, amid a decline in blood donation campaigns due to widespread malnutrition caused by Israel’s starvation policy.

The ministry issued an urgent appeal to relevant bodies to intervene and replenish blood supplies.

"Blood banks in hospitals are suffering from a severe and critical shortage of blood units and their components," it said in a statement, adding that the nature of the critical injuries arriving at hospitals requires additional blood units to save lives.

The ministry pointed out that the daily need for blood units and components exceeds 350 units, noting that sources of blood supply—including community donation campaigns—have significantly declined due to the spread of famine and malnutrition.

The ministry called on all relevant parties to urgently act to replenish the stock of blood units and their components in hospitals across the Strip.

Israeli army destroyed 1,600 buildings in Gaza since August

Israeli forces have completely destroyed 1,600 residential buildings and severely damaged another 2,000 in Gaza since last month, in addition to demolishing 13,000 tents housing displaced persons, the Gaza government media office said in a press statement Saturday.

It added that since the start of September, 70 residential buildings have been levelled, 120 partially destroyed, and 3,500 tents wiped out.

Gaza child football player killed with 14 family members

Mohammad Ramez Al-Sultan, a striker for the Hilal Gaza Club academy, was killed on Friday along with 14 members of his family in an attack carried out by Israeli forces targeting his home in Al-Tawam neighborhood, north of Gaza City, on Friday.

Video footage showed massive destruction caused by the Israeli bombing of the Al-Sultan family home, which killed most people present at the scene.

Palestinian mad shot in occupied West Bank

A Palestinian man was shot by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank town of al-Ram, north of Jerusalem, according to Palestinian news agency Wafa, which added that the 57-year-old was transferred to a hospital in Ramallah.

Israel strikes high-rise in Gaza City

An Israeli strike has destroyed a Gaza City high-rise that the military said was used by Hamas, without providing evidence to corroborate these claims.

The strike is the latest in a series that has destroyed many high-rise residences in Gaza.

Seven die from starvation in Gaza, including two children

Seven Palestinians have died from starvation in Gaza, including two children, according to Gaza's Ministry of Health, bringing the total number of people who have died from starvation through the war to 420, including 145 children.

Israeli attacks killed 47 Palestinians in Gaza in 24 hours

Gaza's Ministry of Health has said that Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours have killed 47 Palestinians, leaving a further 205 wounded.

The total death toll from Israel's war on the enclave stands at 64,803 Palestinians killed and 164,264 wounded.

Palestinian factions hand over weapons in Lebanon camps

Palestinian factions in two refugee camps in Lebanon handed over truckloads of weapons to authorities on Saturday as part of a deal reached earlier this year to remove arms not under Lebanese state control.

The latest transfer of weapons, which has been slow since it began last month, took place in the Ein el-Hilweh refugee camp, the largest in Lebanon, near the southern port city of Sidon, and the Beddawi refugee camp near the northern city of Tripoli.

State-run National News Agency and a Palestinian spokesman said three trucks full of weapons from the Beddawi camp were headed to a Lebanese army barracks inside Tripoli.

The spokesman for the Palestinian National Security Forces in Lebanon, Abdul Hadi al-Assadi, said in a statement that five truckloads of weapons also were handed over at Ein el-Hilweh. He said the weapons belonged to factions that are part of the Palestine Liberation Organisation.

WHO chief says 'doing all we can' to evacuate Gaza patients

WHO Chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that the UN agency is "doing all we can to alleviate suffering, and evacuate those who need urgent medical care outside Gaza".

"The urgent problem we face is that too few countries are willing to receive them. We call for countries to open their arms to these critically ill patients." 

"We call on Israel to allow people to be treated in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, where hospitals closer to home can take many patients," he added.

Israel army says over 250,000 residents have left Gaza City

The Israeli military said Saturday that more than 250,000 people have left Gaza City for other parts of the territory over the past few weeks, since it intensified its assault on Gaza's largest urban centre.

"According to IDF (military) estimates, more than a quarter of a million residents of Gaza City have moved out of the city for their own safety," the military's Arabic-language spokesman Colonel Avichay Adraee said on X.

Israel bombs two UNRWA-run schools

Israel has struck two UNRWA-run schools, which have turned into shelters in the Shati refugee camp, according to Al Jazeera.

The strikes come after displacement orders were issued to a number of schools.

Israelis protest outside education minister's home

Israelis have launched protests outside the home of Education Minister Yoav Kisch, according to Haaretz, with signs calling for a ceasefire as well as criticising the minister's policies. 

Some signs read: "Educator of racism", "educator of incitement", "educator of silencing", according to Haaretz, while The Times of Israel reported signs reading "educates to abandon [our] brothers". 

Tens of thousands join pro-Palestinian march in New Zealand

Thousands took part in a pro-Palestinian march in Auckland, New Zealand's biggest city, on Saturday, in what organisers said was the largest rally of its kind since Israel's war on Gaza began.

Some 50,000 attended the March for Humanity rally in central Auckland on Saturday morning, the Aotearoa for Palestine group said. New Zealand police estimated the attendance at 20,000.

Aotearoa for Palestine spokesperson Arama Rata said it was New Zealand's largest march in support of Palestinians since the start of Israel's war on Gaza.

Many in Saturday's protest crowd carried Palestinian flags and banners with slogans including "Don't normalise genocide" and "Grow a spine stand with Palestine", public broadcaster Radio New Zealand reported.

Organisers, motivated by a march that shut down Sydney's iconic Harbour Bridge in August, wanted to close a major city bridge with Saturday's rally, Rata said, but were forced to abandon those plans on Friday due to strong winds.

Police said there were no arrests at the march and that roads along the route were being reopened.

Houthis say targeted Israel with missile

Yemen's Houthis have said that they have targeted "sensitive sites" in the Israeli city of Jaffa with a missile, with spokesman Yahya Saree saying the Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile had "successfully achieved its objectives."

The Israeli military, however, said it had intercepted the missile.
