Israeli forces storm West Bank, detaining scores of Palestinians
Israeli forces violently stormed several towns and villages in the occupied West Bank on Sunday evening, arresting at least 60 people.
Israeli forces forcibly entered homes in the village of Umm Safa, north of Ramallah and the town of Haris, west of the city of Salfit.
A large portion of those detained were children after people were searched and harrassed in their homes.
In Hebron and nearby villages, Israeli soldiers destroyed vehicles and detained many people, according to Arabic news site Arabi 21.
A young man was also shot by Israeli forces near the Qalandia camp after it was raided.
East of the city of Nablus, a Palestinian man was wounded after Israeli forces raided homes and opened fire.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society issued a statement shortly after saying they transferred "a young 22-year-old to hospital, after he was injured by live bullets in the abdomen during the storming of the Balata camp refugee camp" near Nablus.
The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad, announced on Telegram that its fighters were "confronting the Zionist occupation forces" in several parts of the camp.
Since the launch of Israel’s war on Gaza in October, Israel has stepped up its attacks on West Bank towns, killing Palestinians and carrying out mass arrests.
According to the Palestinian health ministry, 716 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since October 7, with around 10,000 detained.
A UN report said at least 126 of those people were killed in air strikes, while at least 11 were killed by extremist Israeli settlers.
