Israel continues striking Lebanon despite Iran's insistence that an end to its war with the US is conditional to Israel halting attacks on Lebanon.

- Israel is continuing its strikes against South Lebanon, hitting the southern city of Tyre after issuing a forced displacement order in the early on Tuesday. At least nine people have been killed in strikes on the city, according to Lebanon's National News Agency.
- US President Donald Trump said he is in the "final throes" of a deal with Iran, claiming that a deal is likely to be reached within the next two weeks.
- The UK, Australia, Canada, France and Norway issued new sanctions aimed at combating the financing of Israeli settlers operating in the occupied West Bank and said they were prepared to take further measures. France also banned far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich from entering the country.

Oil falls below $90 a barrel on hopes of Iran deal

Oil prices fell around 5 percent to below $90 a barrel on Tuesday after US President Donald Trump again said an Iran peace deal could be close.
The international benchmark Brent crude fell below $90 for the first time since April 14, while its US counterpart, West Texas Intermediate crude fell to around $86 a barrel.
The relief came just a day after crude surged as Iran and Israel briefly resumed strikes amid a fragile ceasefire in the Middle East war.
Iran to travel to US day before its first WC match

Iran's football federation announced on Tuesday its national team's schedule for the group stage of the World Cup, a tournament that is beginning under difficult circumstances for the Islamic republic.
While the players obtained the visas necessary to enter the United States -- which is in open military conflict with Tehran -- and play their group-stage matches in Los Angeles and Seattle, not all delegation members received them.
The dispute erupted just days before the 2026 World Cup kicks off on Thursday. The tournament is being jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada.
"In accordance with FIFA's programme, the team delegation will travel to the United States on a charter flight," the Iranian federation's spokesperson Amir Mehdi Alavi said in a statement carried by ISNA.
"The team will travel to the host city one day before the match against New Zealand, and for the following two matches, we will be at the host venue two days before the game," he added.
Iran's participation in the World Cup has been marred by visa issues that Tehran says have prevented some 15 administrative and management staff in its delegation from entering the United States.
Rising tensions also prompted Iran to announce that it was moving its World Cup training base to the Mexican border city of Tijuana rather than Tucson, Arizona, as originally planned.
Iran open their campaign against New Zealand in Los Angeles on June 15, before facing Belgium in the same city on June 21 and Egypt in Seattle on June 26.

US embassy in Jerusalem says shelter in place order lifted

The US Embassy in Jerusalem announced that the shelter-in-place order for US government employees and their family members has ended after it was introduced by Israel's Home Front Command in light of Iranian attacks on Sunday.

US energy official: Hormuz traffic rising very meaningfully

U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said on Tuesday that ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz is rising "very meaningfully" as the conflict with Iran continues.
Wright made the remarks during an Atlantic Council conference and added that it would take many months to get back to normal flows of energy once the war is over.
UN chief says "alarmed" by escalation in region

The UN's Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, has said that he is "deeply alarmed" by the ongoing escalation in the region, saying in a post on X that "all attacks must stop immediately. The ceasefires in Lebanon, Iran & Gaza must be fully respected."
He added that he was also concerned by Israel's closure of crossings into Gaza, and said that only diplomacy can bring an end to the conflicts in the region.
