Israel strikes on Gaza continue, as Iran war breaks out
Killings and strikes continued in Gaza on early Saturday morning, while restrictions in the occupied West Bank have been tightened, as Israel and the US launched a huge blitz on Iran.
A Palestinian man was shot dead near the Kuwait roundabout south of Gaza City, while Israeli strikes targeted areas around Gaza City, according to The New Arab's sister site Al-Araby Al-Jadeed.
There were also reports of Israeli vehicles firing on targets in northern and eastern Gaza, in the latest violation of a ceasefire for the enclave agreed in October.
At least 618 people have been killed since last year's truce, while over 72,000 Palestinians have been killed since the war began in October 2023, according to Gaza's health ministry.
The violations come after an Israeli court stopped the government from blocking dozens of aid groups from operating in Gaza, after they refused to provide Israel with a list of their Palestinian staff.
Israeli forces have tightened military checkpoints in the West Bank, including around Ramallah, while Ein Sinya, Atara, Aboud, Yabdou and the entrance to Rawabi have been sealed off.
Teargas was fired at Palestinians attempting to cross the Atra checkpoint north of Ramallah.
Meanwhile, in Hebron, Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian residents in the town of Idha.
Settlers also attempted to steal 150 sheep in the area of Faraa, east of the town, close to where an illegal Jewish settlement was established two years ago.
