An Israeli airstrike injured at least seven people in the town of Beit Lif in southern Lebanon on Saturday, in the latest violation of the ceasefire by Tel Aviv.

Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) said that an Israeli drone launched two missiles targeting the Beit Lif square, located in the Bint Jbeil district, close to the Israeli border.

According to images shared by Lebanese media, the missiles targeted a vehicle, reported as a civilian one.

The identity of those injured has not yet been revealed.

Lebanese media also reported that Israeli drones were flying at low altitude over the towns of Anqoun, Kfarhata, and Arab al-Jal, in the south of the country.

Beit Lif was also the site of a similar Israeli attack earlier this week. An Israeli drone killed one person in the town, and injured three people on Wednesday.

Since the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah came into effect on 27 November 2024, Israel has committed approximately 3,000 violations, killing at least 213 people and wounding 508.

A low-level conflict between Israel and Hezbollah began on 8 October 2023, one day after the Gaza War began with Hamas's surprise attack on Israel.

Israel dramatically escalated the conflict into a full-scale war in September 2024, assassinating senior Hezbollah leaders and beginning an intense bombardment of southern Lebanon, the southern suburbs of  Beirut and other areas.

Israel’s war in Lebanon killed well over 4,000 Lebanese, and displaced more than one million people.

After the ceasefire, the Israeli army refused to withdraw from five posts in south Lebanon it deemed strategic, despite the ceasefire conditions stating that it must fully withdraw from the country's south.

On Saturday, Israel said it called up its reservists to bolster its presence along the border with both Lebanon and Syria, amid escalating tensions due to Israel’s large-scale attack on Iran, and Tehran’s retaliatory strikes.

The Israeli army said it has called up the headquarters of the 146th Reserve Division, along with the Iron Fist and Etzioni reserve brigades, to reinforce positions along the northern border with Lebanon.

Several other reserve battalions have also been deployed to the Syrian border, the army said, as cited by Israeli media.
