The Israeli military said it killed senior Hamas commander Raed Saed on Saturday following a deliberate airstrike on vehicle in Gaza City.
Israeli officials said Saed was driving along the al-Rashid coastal road. Three others were reportedly killed in the incident, which is Israel's biggest violation of the October ceasefire so far.
The Israeli military claimed that Saed was "operating tore-establish Hamas's capabilities".
Hamas have yet to comment on the incident.
Israel has carried out multiple ceasefire violations on Saturday, carrying out several attacks on Saturday morning, including the killing of a teenager.
The teenager was identified as 19-year-old Muhammad Sabri Al-Adham, who was shot dead in the Jabalia Al-Nazla area.
The Israeli military also launched airstrikes on areas in the Al-Tuffah neighbourhood, east of Gaza City, north of Rafah, and areas east of Khan Younis, south of the enclave
This comes as the enclave reels from the deadly Storm Byron this week, which killed at least 16 Palestinians in 24 hours, including three children, who died from freezing temperatures.
Several other fatalities were due to the collapse of buildings, due to heavy rain and strong winds. A total of 13 buildings collapsed during this period.
The storm's aftermath has left Gaza's inhabitants at risk of developing illnesses, facing cold temperatures, being homeless or without adequate housing and other necessities.
