Israeli strikes have continued to pound Gaza, killing at least 51 Palestinians since dawn, according to medical sources on the ground, while international pressure against Tel Aviv to end the war intensifies.
Five of those killed were after Israel struck a tent west of Khan Younis, while 12 were killed and 60 were injured after Israeli forces fired on people gathering near an aid distribution point in the centre of the strip, the official Palestinian Wafa news agency reported.
The continued Israeli war on the enclave has drawn further international criticism, with Canada being the latest country to announce recognition of the State of Palestine at the UN in September.
The UN's special rapporteur on torture, Alice Jill Edwards, has called for a rapid delivery of aid into the enclave and said "the psychological impact of being deprived of food and water is inherently cruel."
Israel's war on Gaza, which is pushing the enclave into famine according to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, has killed 60,138 Palestinians and wounded a further 146,269.
