Iran attacked more than a dozen vessels in the Strait of Hormuz as Trump predicted that the war will end after US midterm elections in November

Good evening,

Here are the latest developments:

- Iran said it attacked more than a dozen vessels trying to pass through the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, as it announced an expansion of a no-go zone outside the strategic waterway it has blocked for months.

-The fresh attacks and fighting with the United States have sent oil prices above $100 per barrel again as Tehran chokes off the strait and Washington presses a counter-blockade of Iranian ports.

-Donald Trump predicted that the war with Iran will end "immediately after" the US midterm elections in November but said that he didn't expect the price of oil to come down before then.

-Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has visited Jabal al-Shaikh (Mount Hermon) in Syria and said that the Iranian government was very close to being overthrown.

-Yemen's Houthi rebels have reported dozens of Saudi airstrikes days after renewed conflict broke out in the country.
