A confirmed agreement between Iran and the United States will also cover Lebanon has been announced, according to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, as US President Donald Trump said Sunday that a peace deal with Iran is "now complete".
Writing on X, Sharif said both sides had agreed to the “immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.”
He added that the official signing ceremony is scheduled to take place in Switzerland on Friday 19 June.
Meanwhile, Trump also announced that the Strait of Hormuz is open and the United States will lift its naval blockade.
"The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!," Trump said on his Truth Social network, shortly after mediator Pakistan said both sides had reached an agreement.
"I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!"
