The International Criminal Court on Thursday issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defence minister, as well as Hamas's military chief Mohammed Deif.
ICC chief prosecutor Karim Khan in May requested the court issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
On Thursday, Israeli forces killed 88 people, many of them children in their sleep in a series of strikes on northern Gaza.
At least 66 of them were killed in an attack early on Thursday on a residential area of Beit Lahia.
In Lebanon, 47 people were killed in Israeli bombing of the Baalbek-Hermel area of eastern Lebanon, local governor Bachir Khidr said.
In another development, Hezbollah has launched its first strike on southern Israel since the conflict erupted in October 2023, Lebanese media has reported.
The Lebanese armed group targeted the Hatsor airbase, located east of Ashdod, according to sources.
"For the first time since October 8, 2023, Hezbollah claims an attack on southern Israel," Lebanese daily L'Orient-Le Jour reported.
