Egyptian-Palestinian actress May Calamawy will star in the sequel to the Gladiator movie.

The sequel is set to be released in November next year. It will be written by David Scarpa and directed by British filmmaker Ridley Scott, who directed the first movie released in 2000.

Calamawy, who was catapulted to fame after playing Scarlet Scarab in Marvel Studio’s "Moon Knight" series, will be in Gladiator 2 alongside big names in Hollywood such as Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal and others.

The 36-year-old has also been in the Netflix comedy drama "Ramy," which talks about a Muslim man born to Egyptian immigrants who moved to the US.

Gladiator is an epic historical drama loosely based on historical figures from Ancient Rome. It starred Russell Crowe and won five Academy Awards. It won an Oscars for sound, costumes and visual effects.
