Egypt arrests amusement park manager after ride collapses, injuring children

Egypt's prosecutor-general has ordered the arrest of the manager of an amusement park in Alexandria after a ride collapse that resulted in several injuries, including children in serious condition.

A distressing video of the incident, which occurred on Thursday at Green Plaza Mall, was widely shared on social media, showing panic as people rushed to help those on the detached ride.

While some families quickly fled the scene with their children, others attempted to lift the detached ride from the ground to free the victims.

Security forces cordoned off the area as rescue workers and paramedics rushed to aid the injured, transporting them to nearby hospitals.

Egyptian authorities have launched an official inquiry into the incident, with no further immediate details available.
