Children's star Ms. Rachel named global ambassador for Palestine Children's Relief Fund
Ms Rachel, the children’s entertainer and educator with a global following, has been appointed as the new global ambassador for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF), the US-based medical relief organisation announced late on Monday.
Rachel Accurso, widely known as Ms Rachel, has become one of the most prominent international voices advocating for Palestinian children.
Although best known for her toddler-focused YouTube channel, which has over 16 million subscribers, she has increasingly used her platform to highlight the plight of children in Gaza amid Israel’s ongoing war and blockade.
In its announcement, PCRF praised Ms Rachel as an "incredible educator, advocate, and YouTube content creator who has helped children across the world learn and thrive".
"Today, Ms Rachel will use her voice and platform to stand even more strongly with some of the children who need us the most in the world - the children of Palestine and the Middle East," the organisation said on its Instagram page.
"Over the past year, she has worked closely with PCRF, supporting fundraising efforts and becoming a close friend of Rahaf, a four-year-old survivor from Gaza receiving care in the US through PCRF after an amputation caused by an airstrike," it added.
"We are excited for the next chapter with you, @MsRachel. Together, we will shine a light on the children’s stories and walk alongside them on their path to healing and thriving," the
Her advocacy has included raising funds for medical treatment, evacuations and aid programmes, as well as using her videos to bring global attention to individual stories.
In one widely shared clip, she sang and interacted with Rahaf, a Gazan girl who had lost both her legs in an Israeli air strike. The emotional exchange highlighted her message that children in Gaza deserve dignity, safety and access to education and healthcare.
Ms Rachel has also made high-profile financial commitments, including a $1 million donation to the World Food Program USA to support children in Gaza and other conflict zones.
She has spoken out against the violence in Gaza, called for humanitarian aid to flow unimpeded, and urged political leaders to act for the protection of children's rights.
"I will not work with anyone who has not spoken out against what is happening to children in Gaza," she declared earlier this year.
Her stance, however, has made her a target for backlash as pro-Israel groups launched smear campaigns accusing her of "antisemitism" - charges she and her supporters reject.
In response to online criticism she faced, Ms Rachel reaffirmed her commitment to "kindness and humanity" and focused her efforts squarely on protecting children caught in conflict.
