Israel continued its assault on Lebanon on Sunday, with airstrikes killing at least 13 people across southern Lebanon.
One person was killed in a strike on Tyre, while six were killed in Maaroub, and six others were killed in Qana.
Lebanon’s health ministry said the total number of people killed since 2 March had risen to 2,020, with 6,436 wounded, amid continued Israeli bombardment across the country.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meanwhile threatened further escalation, stating that the war "is not over yet" and claiming that Israel had achieved "historic accomplishments".
In a recorded address, Netanyahu said Israel would not agree to any negotiations with Lebanon unless two conditions were met: the disarmament of Hezbollah and the conclusion of a peace agreement that would "last for generations".
He also claimed that Lebanon had sought to open direct negotiation channels in recent weeks "because of the strength that Israel has demonstrated", adding that he accepted such talks only "on two conditions: dismantling Hezbollah’s weapons and reaching a peace agreement that would last for generations".
Hezbollah, however, reiterated its rejection of direct negotiations with Israel, a day after the Lebanese presidency announced that talks would begin in Washington next week.
A Hezbollah lawmaker said that negotiating directly with Israel would amount to a violation of the Lebanese constitution.
Despite a two-week truce announced earlier this week in the US-Israeli war on Iran, which Pakistan and Iran said would include Lebanon, Israeli forces have continued heavy strikes for a fourth consecutive day. Washington and Tel Aviv have denied that the ceasefire applies to Lebanon.
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that an Israeli airstrike struck the al-Khashna area in Qana, hitting homes and infrastructure and killing five people, while injuring several others who were taken to hospitals in Tyre.
Additional strikes targeted multiple towns across southern Lebanon, including Aitit, Samaiya, Mahrouna, and areas around Khiam. In the town of Maarka, three people were wounded, according to local officials.
Overnight, Israeli warplanes struck Kounine and Bafliyeh, while artillery shelling hit the town of Mansouri. A drone strike on Jouaiya caused fires in electricity generators supplying a telecommunications company, with emergency crews working to contain the blaze.
Lebanese media also reported that an Israeli Apache helicopter fired heavy machine guns at the town of Khiam, which came under sustained artillery bombardment. Local authorities urged residents to remain indoors and avoid exposed areas.
Hezbollah said it carried out multiple operations on Saturday, including targeting the northern Israeli settlement of Kiryat Shmona with a swarm of attack drones. The group also issued dozens of statements detailing strikes on Israeli military positions and troop movements along the border.
The escalation comes amid growing international concern over the humanitarian impact of Israel’s war on Lebanon, with Lebanese officials highlighting Israel's targeting of civilian infrastructure, civilians and healthcare workers.
