12 Palestinians were killed during deadly floods in Libya due to Storm Daniel
At least 12 Palestinians were killed during the deadly floods that hit the city of Derna on the eastern coast of Libya as Storm Daniel swept across the region, according to a Palestinian Ministry.
In a press statement sent to The New Arab, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry said, "Eight of the dead were from the same family."
"We are consulting the Libyan Authorities to follow up on the situation in the territory," the ministry added.
Storm Daniel storm wreaked havoc on the Mediterranean region. It made a fall in eastern Libya on Sunday, 10 September, triggering deadly flooding after dams burst and destroying villages and towns along its path.
Libyan officials said more than 2,000 Libyans were killed during the deadly floods, and at least 10,000 others were still missing.
