The UN elevator is broken!

The malfunctioning escalator at the United Nations in New York became more than a mechanical hiccup, it symbolised Donald Trump’s fraught return to the world stage. What should have been a routine ascent into the General Assembly turned into a stumble, amplified by his accusations of sabotage and claims of a global conspiracy against the United States. 

What began as a halted escalator now stands as shorthand for the dysfunction between the American president and the multilateral body he derides. The machinery of diplomacy, like the escalator itself, remains stuck mid-flight.
